The Greeks have long been known for their orders of architecture in their building columns known as Doric, Ionic and Corinthian, their pottery vases and their many types of ornamentatal motifs. The geometrical motif known as the fret or meander commonly referred to as the Greek key pattern is attributed to the Greeks. My family had a vegetarian restaurant in the 1970s appropriately called Leafeaters across the street from Beefeaters. One of my favorite memories from then was cooking with my sister and listening to Judy Collins sing Cook with Honey from her True Stories and Other Dreams album.
We served ice cream made with honey by the Golden Temple. I think we ate up all the profits with our consumption of the milk shakes and ice cream sundaes.
