She showed me how to cook and she taught me how to sew.
Every Christmas she made her famous and beloved fig, raisin, prune, orange peel and walnut filled cookies. She would make dozens and dozens of…

This is my bakery design for the challenge to design a business. My design is a bakery store called “Sugar” because of my love of sugar cookies. I’ve been collecting cookie cutters and baking sugar cookies for many years.…

Last summer we spent the 4th of July holiday in the State of Washington in the one county that allows the sale and use of serious fireworks and it was a cracking, blasting, popping, loud time. Because the weather there was so nice we were able to eat outside and enjoy the festivities. My idea of the perfect American 4th of July picnic includes a little badminton, a game of croquet, a covered gazebo to…

A nativity scene may be used to describe any depiction of the Nativity of Jesus in art,but in the sense covered here, also called a crib or manger in the UK and crèche in France (meaning “crib” or “manger” French), it means a three-dimensional commercial or folk art depiction of the birth or birthplace of Jesus, either sculpted or using two-dimensional (cut-out) figures arranged in a three-dimensional setting.
After his return to Italy from a voyage to Egypt and Acre in 1220, St Francis of Assisi introduced three-dimensional nativity scenes. Some accounts state he used statues or costumed people, but…
