Tricks are for Kids!
This is my entry in the Olioboard Alice in Wonderland challenge.
I think a modern day Alice would be inspired by the whimsical style of Art Nouveau. Her dear friend, the white rabbit was the initial spark of influence for the board and the Art Nouveau tiffany lamp and Victorian tile initiated the design scheme.
Street of Dreams
I had the pleasure of visiting the homes at the Street of Dreams in Tigard, Oregon yesterday. Here are some beautiful images to enjoy of the gorgeous Pacific Northwest.

Ultraviolet
Once the color associated with royalty, purple is a rich and regal color. Deep purple represents luxury with a touch of romance. On the color wheel, purple is a secondary color achieved my mixing blue and red pigments. The hue varies according to the proportions of blue and red pigments to either a bright violet or soothing lavender blue.
Analogous color schemes of red violet, violet, blue violet, blue naturally occur in nature and make for harmonious color arrangements. Violet is the color associated with a meditative state and is represented by the third eye chakra. Lavender is fresh and visually calming and looks good paired with blues, pinks and white.

Francophilia
Yesterday I went to see the latest Woody Allen movie, Midnight in Paris and today I have been thinking about all things French. The beginning of the film is a picture postcard of memorable French landmarks and throughout the film you are presented with a visual delight of the allure and beauty of Paris. Since seeing the film, I have researched some of the locations of filming and would like to share my visual delight.
This is the official poster from the movie Midnight in Paris

This is the hotel location Hotel Le Bristol where many of the scenes were filmed in Paris.
The panoramic suite at Hotel Le Bristol decorated in Louis XV furniture style. I love the beautiful bombe chest.

Countertop Intelligence
I became inspired to investigate countertop material choices when I read an article in New York Times entitled, “What’s Lurking in Your Countertop?” Unbeknownst to me and I am certain many of you, allegations have been made that granite countertops may emit levels of radon. Please don’t panic. I have granite counters in my home. I have done some research on alternative choices to granite and you will be amazed at some of the choices which are gorgeous and some are even Eco friendly. I have included a link to the article written in July 2008 so you can do your own research. What’s Lurking in Your Countertop?

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo
Even though Cinco de Mayo—or the fifth of May—commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the French-Mexican War, it has evolved into a celebration of Mexican traditions and has become one big fiesta! However you decide you to celebrate this festive occasion, here are some things to inspire you to have a FIESTA GRANDE!
Here is a Treasury I curated on Etsy for the occasion:
