Decorating for Easter Brunch

Are you ready for Easter? Yesterday I realized Easter was going to fall on my birthday this year which was a delightful surprise. So I decided I am going to host an Easter brunch. I created this design on Olioboard as a preview to my event and for some Easter inspiration. Easter is my preferred holiday to bake and decorate cookies because I get to use some of my favorite cookie cutters and use colorful pastel icing and sugars.

Design a room with African influence

African influence is back. Think black, red and white, bold monochrome geometrics, tribal patterns and more. Bring the African influence to your home. This is my design in the African influence design challenge on Olioboard. My design was inspired by the iconic zebra wallpaper design by Scalamandre which was designed in the 1930s by Flora Scalamandre for Gino’s restaurant in New York. The background picture through the window is from the movie A Room with a View filmed in my favorite place Florence, Italy. Smitten with Knittin

After spending last summer in the Pacific Northwest in Portand, Oregon, I became inspired to learn to knit. I’ve got a lot to learn still but I am really enjoying my new hobby. My favorite yarns are the natural fibers like mohair, wool and silk. I love the way the natural fiber yarn feels sliding through the dancing needles.
